| I often get that little question in emails: “What’s happening? What’s next?” The truth is that one page is never enough to capture it all—there’s just so much going on at the same time. As many of you know, I’ve been training researchers across the Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa. We still need to carry out training in the two largest ones—Mozambique and Angola. The challenge isn’t my schedule or my readiness to go, but rather aligning my time with those who will lead the process in each country. And here’s where you come in, prayer! Pray that the Lord would bring these schedules together in ways that only He can, surprising us all. I’m praying and hoping that this very month, a door will open in one of those two countries.
It is not good just to train them. After they are trained, they need to start “doing the research” immediately. That demands resources from their churches to support the ministry, envisioning the future with hundreds of groups of disciples making other disciples. As in some parts of the continent, the idea of doing research is not that popular among the evangelicals. Sadly, it is perceived as a foreign concept by many. Even then, we cannot give up. Some in their midst already see the strategic need for it, and they will become the advocates of change. We are already working with some of them. Yes, again, that’s where you can come in, praying! |
